BANGO! Chesebro has a story with a point! You see... Digitial Storytelling is very "parwful" tools to use to tell your story. Digital Storytelling will go everywhere and it can make a difference and it can impacts to each person differently. It is like church... Pastor spread the messsage and hit the poeple... the people preach and hit the world... and the world can hit the universe in 2050?

I believe that storytelling is powerful and it can make a difference! You can guide them or remind them or be nothing...

I am in class and my shirt "kinda" fit the theme....

Take a look and see it what you think...

"This is where I nod and act like I'm listening"... Well this is true when I can't capture everything of what people said through lipreading... Yes listening is very vital which I believe that you can get the whole picture and the meaning and purpose if any behind the story but you can get the feel of it. If you pretend, what a dishonest person you are! I think it is important to listen and hear their word! Be cool with it and share with them your feelings weather you agreed or disagreed.

Overall, I have grew up and I find a lot of people don't understand what it is like being Deaf... Yeah I can talk but that doesn't mean I can hear. Overall, People think talking louder, talk verrrrrrry slowly... , covering their mouth, lighting is too dim or dark... I am trying to accomindate to the poeple but I would like people to accomindate to me. Just be yourself and if I'm lost, I will ask to repeat.

Stay cool!

I find it interesting that every story has a way to grab your attention in a way. Many commericals can grab a gullible person attention and the corporation get money from them. Many stories with true meaning that can related to the person personally can mean a lot more than you can imagine. I find it a pleasant to hear the story and how people interpreted it. I can tell you a story and you can interpret it differently or similar to me based on your backgroud experience.

What you see? Okay this is going to be the facts. You know it is 4th Dimension Roller Coaster and this is 1 of the 4 roller coaster design in the world today. This roller coaster has a name, "Eejanaika", and it is located in Japan. It goes 78.3 mph. Blah blah blah...

What about the experience of riding it? Photographs and video doesn't really help maybe a little but not much. You gotta experience it or hear someone sharing their story about the ride. The facts can't tell you how it feels, how does it affect your body, or etc. Some people say, "That's just sick!" and some people like me would say, "Let's get on! Where's the enterance?" But the story that the thrill junkie share after riding on many roller coasters and thrill flat rides can conviced some people to go on the rides and try it for themselves! Story can impact us where Facts really don't. That's how I see the difference between story and facts. Not just roller coasters but in other things outside of the Amusement/Theme Parks! Below is the video and see if this tell you a story or not? What do you think?

For those who get motion sickness, I advice you to NOT to watch it. Thanks.

Video filmed and edited by Shintaro Ishikawa of Roller Coaster Maniac.

Your life as a story...

After reading the first chapter, I was thinking back and reflecting that it has been over a year since I applied to my "dream" job which was teaching at Indiana School for the Deaf and I didn't get it and I went to finish my first master that I started beginning of last summer.

I remember all the techniques and tips that was given to me for preparingi the interview and what to do and wear for the interview. Present yourself well... It is a story but in a visual way... What you wear will explain some of your personality... If you walk in the room with a clean dress and suit, people more likely see you as clean, care about yourself and others, have a serious-sense to do their job. The other person, let say a Hippie, was dress up in short and a T-Shirt that has a picture of weed or beer. The people will obviously think he is open minded, rule breaker, lack of respects, and other characteristic that can be negative. I personally don't think story has to be verbal or written, it can be done by action and apperance. You know the saying one pictures explain over thousands of words.

I see we live in a story book and we may percieve the story differently. Sometime it can be the same... Everyone had a different perpective of the story due to their background. I like that and can be able to hear other people story to see their perspective. Sometime we can't and that can be interesting to explore the backgroud to understand the story or show lack of interest to hear more. I don't want to be talking to much... but I was thinking of six different elements of story telling. You can't do all at the same time... Just build on it like job skills from basic to advanced and go from there.
